According to the faculty’s website, the degree in Process Engineering (Oil and Gas Operations) is a three-year program, which mainly covers midstream activities in the oil and gas industry.
The program enables graduates to pursue a career as an oil and gas operator; oil and gas contractor; process technician; process supervisor; assistant engineer; general technician; plant and machine operator; health and safety officer, including in government sectors.
Applicants must meet the general university admission requirements of having completed a minimum of three credits (Grade C/6C) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) for the following subjects – Chemistry, Biology/Technical Drawing, Mathematics / additional mathematics; and at least pass (Grade E/8E) the English subject; and do not have physical disabilities that complicate practical work and activities.
Graduates of the program will establish themselves as sub-professionals/competencies in their respective fields and contribute to sustainable development through innovative local technologies to meet the needs of society and the nation as a whole.
Upon completion of the programs, graduates should be able to identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems and draw substantiated conclusions using codified analytical methods specific to oil and gas engineering-related operations .
Graduates should also be able to apply knowledge of applied mathematics, applied science, engineering fundamentals, and operational principles of oil and gas engineering to the solution of well-defined engineering problems.
