SP Setia wins World Property Awards

PARIS: Six Malaysia-based property developers scooped awards at the 2022 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards held on June 9.

SP Setia Bhd took the biggest win as it was the only Malaysian developer to win two gold medals at the event.

With the addition of the two awards, SP Setia retained the record for the Malaysian developer with the most gold medals, a total of 15, to be exact.

The winning projects were KL Eco City (KLEC), Kuala Lumpur, and Setia Marina 2 by Setia Eco Glades, Cyberjaya.

KLEC won the highest honor in the mixed-use development category, while Setia Marina 2 snagged a gold medal in the residential (low-rise) category.

It should be noted that KLEC and Setia Marina 2 previously won the Mixed Use Development and Residential (Low Building) categories at the FIABCI Malaysia Property Award 2021.

According to SP Setia President and CEO, Datuk Choong Kai Wai, the accolades received by KLEC and Setia Marina 2 are testament to the strength of the company’s products in meeting the aspirations of homeowners, property buyers and communities.

Meanwhile, YTL Land and Development Bhd won a gold award in the residential (highrise) category for its The Fennel at Sentul East project.

For the cash prizes, four Malaysian property developers were announced as the winners.

Gamuda Land won the silver award in the environmental category for its Gamuda Gardens Central Park project.

Its parent company, Gamuda Bhdwon another silver medal in the resort category for Batu Patung Eco Village.

Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd won a silver medal in the category specially designed for its Wisma Mercedes-Benz.

In the residential (mid-rise) category, OSK Property Sdn Bhd won the silver award for its TimurBay Seafront Residence in Kuantan.

WB Land Sdn Bhd won the industrial category with Frontier Park.

The awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the 72nd FIABCI World Real Estate Congress.

Star Media Group Bhd was the media partner of the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2022.
