RACE – #AustralianGP It was a bitter Sunday for the team Gresini Racing Moto2who had high expectations Filip Salac because the runner n°12 had been in the top 10 of the whole session often before the race. The Czech driver, who started from tenth place on the grid, immediately picked up the pace and climbed up to fourth position. With 15 laps to go, however, he made a mistake and retired from the race as his and the team’s hopes of a great result dashed.
Alessandro Zacconeon the other hand, started the race from twenty-eighth place: the rider n°61 managed to improve his pace in the second half of the meeting and narrowly missed the top 15 (he was 16e at the checkered flag).
16e – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61
“A colorless performance, but we didn’t expect much more. I also struggled today in the race, as that also happened on Saturday. I improved my pace in the second part of the game; when the tank is empty, I manage to be faster. Now we will wait for Malaysia to make amends.
DNF – FILIP SALAČ #12
“I’m really disappointed. After a perfect weekend, during which we were constantly in the top ten, I had a good start to the race and after a few laps I was already fourth. I had the situation under control , but with 15 laps to go, I made a mistake: I opened the throttle a little too early at turn 1, the front end retracted and I crashed. I’m really sorry for the team: the guys worked hard all weekend and the bike was perfect. We’re moving on to the next one with a lot more experience though, as it was the first time we managed to be this fast in the dry too. We’ll try again in Malaysia!
