THE Government of Terengganu will open applications for One-Time Youth and Student Aid or ‘i-Belia’ from September 18 to October 7.
Chairman of the State Committee for Youth Development, Sports and Non-Governmental Organizations, Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah, said that i-Belia is an initiative of the state government to help young people, like the introduced Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar in the 2022 budget in November last year.
Wan Sukairi said a total of 135,974 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the aid, estimated at over RM20 million.
“There are two categories for this aid, young people and students. For the youth category, applications are open to those who live in other states and meet the specified requirements.
“Each eligible applicant will receive a one-time grant of RM150, which will be paid in cash from October 30 to November 30 this year,” he told a press conference in Kuala Nerus.
Wan Sukairi said that among the conditions set, the applicant must be a citizen of Terengganu, between the ages of 18 and 39 and a registered voter in the state.
Also, the candidate must not be a federal or state government employee and must be registered in the Profile Rakyat Terengganu (PRT20) system.
“For applicants in the youth category who are already working, their monthly income should not exceed RM1,500, while for those who are not working, the total monthly income of their parents or guardians should not exceed RM2,500.
“For the student category, applications are open to students from public or private institutions in the country,” he said.
He said the public can visit http://ibantuan.terengganu.gov.my to submit requests or get more information and details on assistance. – Bernama, September 16, 2022.
